Week Eleven!

We are in the final stretch of our first semester Shakespeare class! We only have this week and next week to finish up all the assignments and earn entrance to our fabulous Christmas party!!!

As a reminder, here are the Seven Ascension Qualifications that each student needs to complete by the last week of class:

1. Watch, read, or listen to AT LEAST FIVE Shakespeare Plays in Shakespearean text. (Sorry, no materials that are simply based on the Bard's plays.)
2. Complete all the assignment sheets in the Student Y.E.S. Manual.
3. Read the assigned play, and discuss it each week in class. (If more than 3 class discussions are missed, please speak with the mentor about discussing the play with your parents.)
4. Help plan the “Twelfth Night Extravaganza” to be held in January. (We will do this together on the last week of class!)
5. Give a Class Presentation on an assigned Elizabethan Subject.
6. Recite the assigned soliloquy or set-piece from memory. (This can be done in front of the entire class, or privately with your Y.E.S. Mentor.)
7. Write a summary of Macbeth in your own words. (The length of the paper is up to the student!)

Here are the final assignments!:

Reading Assignment: Finish the remainder of Macbeth!!!
Writing Assignment:
Write a summary of Macbeth in your own words.
Plays: How many plays have YOU read/watched/listened to??? Everybody can at least finish five!
Memorizing: How are you coming on Macbeth's soliloquy? Be sure to work on memorizing this week! YOU CAN DO IT!!!
Presentations: Lliam (The Four Humors) and Lauren (Clothes and Fashion in Elizabethan England)

REMEMBER:
This week and next week in class, we will be watching "The Comedy of Errors" in preparation for next semester's play. Bring a healthy snack or treat to share!

See you Thursday! :-)

Love,
Mrs. K.
