This Week: November 4th!

Dear Shakespeare Students and Parents,

Last week was so much fun! We had a hilarious Banter Battle, a hands-on demonstration about "Elizabethan Weapons and Warfare" by Brennan, and we held a coronation for our first member of royalty, Lady Elizabeth M.! And DUKE passed off the soliloquy with flying colors-- and so can YOU!!!

We've now finished Act III of Macbeth, and I think we can all see what happens when a person lets their ambition for power overcome the principles they know are right.

  • This week's presentation will be given by Rebecca and will be on "Myths, Stories and Legends of Elizabethan Times".
  • The reading assignment is Act IV, Scenes 1-2
  • The writing assignment is "Fathers have the role of family protector. How has your own father protected your family?"
  • Plays: How many plays have YOU read/watched/listened to??? I challenge you to rack up more plays this week! :-)
  • Memorizing: How are you coming on Macbeth's soliloquy? Be sure to work on memorizing this week!
Here are the statistics for our class's Rank Elevation:
  • Elizabeth is now an official "LADY"!!!
  • Bonny and Rebecca are "Damsels" and are each just five plays away from becoming "Ladies" themselves!
  • Carli is only two plays away from becoming a "Damsel", and Brennan is only two plays from attaining the rank of "Squire".
  • Morganne is three plays away from becoming a "Damsel."
  • Duke only needs four plays to reach the rank of "Squire."
  • Jessica and Alyssa are now "Maids" and only need 5 plays to reach the rank of "Damsel."
  • Lliam needs one more play to become a "Page", and Lauren only four more plays to become a "Maid"!
WAY TO GO, SHAKESPEAREANS!!! You can get there!!! :-)

See you Thursday...

Love,
Mrs. K.
