Play Study Guides

Cast members of "Much Ado About Nothing" (2010) greeting audience members

These manuals are study guides for Shakespeare's plays. Each one includes reading assignments for discussions and essay writing assignments that coordinate with each week's reading, as well as the soliloquy to memorize for the students' Ascension Qualifications.

When a parent or mentor reviews a student's Shakespeare paper, I highly recommend that the rules of grammar, punctuation, and spelling be set aside in favor of finding the value in the student's thoughts and ideas on the socratic questions that are given for the writing assignments. We want to ENCOURAGE the student to share their thoughts and ideas without getting bogged down in editing details-- mentors should be looking for the student to stretch their minds with great thoughts on deep subjects and find the ability to put themselves in each character's place and ask themselves "What would I do?"

These study guides are included in every Teaching Shakespeare Kit.

(They are not for purchase separately at this time.)

We currently offer "Hamlet," "Romeo and Juliet," and "Macbeth." (The Play Study Guides can be copied for all students being taught in your class or home and should be added to the Student Manuals.)

FREE!
More study Guides will be added soon, and will be sent to our first 50 customers for FREE as they are finished during the 2012-2013 school year! (Julius Caesar will be available very soon.)

Please contact us at info@yeshakespeare.com to request other plays or for more information about this special offer.
